Distressed condition consistent with age and ceremonial use. Surface wear, lacquer loss, fading of painted decoration, cracks in the wood, and areas of abrasion are present, all contributing to an authentic, timeworn patina. Structurally stable and suitable for display.

Constructed from solid elm wood, the body is wrapped in textile layers that were then coated with black lacquer — a traditional technique that strengthened the structure while providing a smooth, resilient surface. Hand-painted dragon motifs decorate the exterior, applied over the lacquered textile. Metal studs secure the top and bottom rims, reinforcing the form and adding rhythmic visual detail.
