About

Pair of Punjabi Lattice Windows with Original Paint — 19th Century

A finely crafted pair of see-through lattice windows from the Punjab region of Pakistan, dating to the late 19th century. Each window features an intricate geometric jali pattern — a traditional form of carved wooden latticework designed to filter light and air while providing privacy. Remnants of original orange and green paint remain across the frames, giving the pieces a softly weathered, timeworn character.

Originally used in traditional Punjabi homes, these windows function today as sculptural wall panels, decorative screens, or architectural accents that bring texture, history, and craftsmanship into any interior.
