Pern Baan

About

A Crafted Community of Cross-Cultural Collaboration.

PERN BAAN is more than a brand—it’s a meeting point between two worlds. Specializing in artisan-made lighting and home décor, PERN BAAN bridges the distance between New York City and Thailand through meaningful design collaborations. Each piece is a product of cross-cultural dialogue, where contemporary design sensibilities meet time-honored Thai craftsmanship.

At the helm is founder and designer Robert Sukrachand, a Thai-American creative whose own life has been shaped by the ebb and flow between East and West. What began as “cultural whiplash” in his youth has become a lifelong exploration of identity, expressed through the language of craft. After 15 years creating bespoke furniture in Brooklyn, Robert returned to Thailand with a vision: to build a community where global designers and Thai artisans could co-create—not just objects, but stories.

For PERN BAAN, design transcends form and function. It becomes a bridge—connecting people, heritage, and homes. Every object in their collection reflects a reverence for tradition, reimagined through a modern lens. It’s design as storytelling, where each handmade detail carries the warmth of shared human experience. From the studio to the hands of its makers, and finally into the homes of its collectors, PERN BAAN celebrates the beauty of connection—crafted one piece at a time.
