Korean Stoneware Tea Set

This tea service is inspired by the traditional darye (Korean tea ceremony). It consists of a side-handled teapot (dagwan, 다관) and four matching tea bowls.

The teapot has the characteristic side handle found on many Korean tea vessels. This design allows for precise control while pouring and is particularly well suited for brewing delicate green teas, which are central to Korean tea culture. The rounded body, short spout, and domed lid reflect a simple, functional aesthetic rooted in Korean ceramic traditions.

The stoneware features a warm golden-brown glaze on the teapot and a darker iron-brown glaze on the cups. The surface displays a finely mottled, slightly textured finish, giving each piece an organic, handcrafted appearance. Rather than striving for perfect uniformity, the potter has embraced the subtle variations in glaze and texture that are characteristic of studio ceramics.

The four tea bowls are hemispherical with gently rounded rims and small foot rings. Their modest size makes them suitable for serving green tea.
