This pair of Chinese official’s hat armchairs, often referred to as Ming-style yoke-back chairs or Guanmaoyi (官帽椅), is likely from the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or a Ming-style revival and showcases the timeless elegance of classical Chinese furniture. Traditionally used by scholars and high-ranking officials, these chairs feature gracefully curved yoke-shaped crest rails, a central medallion carving on the back splat, and refined joinery that enhances both form and function.
