About

Waii Mirror - Ebonised

Designed in collaboration with Office of Tangible Space (NYC)
A sculptural ode to Thai heritage, the Waii Mirror merges artisanal tradition with contemporary form. “Waii,” the Thai word for rattan, celebrates the time-honored material through a modern lens, reinterpreted for today’s interiors. Crafted in Thailand, each mirror showcases a sweeping, asymmetrical rattan frame — a fluid silhouette that envelops a generous glass surface. Built on a sturdy metal structure, the piece balances organic craftsmanship with architectural precision, seamlessly blending the warmth of hand-woven rattan with bold, sculptural elegance. This is more than a mirror — it’s a conversation piece, a reflection of culture, and a testament to thoughtful design.

Pern Baan

PERN BAAN is the vision of Thai-American designer Robert Sukrachand, whose work explores the intersection of Eastern heritage and Western design. Rooted in both New York and Thailand, the studio specializes in artisan-made lighting and home décor born from cross-cultural collaboration.

After years of crafting bespoke furniture in Brooklyn, Robert returned to Thailand to build a community where global designers and Thai artisans could co-create meaningful objects. Each piece reflects a dialogue between modern design and traditional Thai craftsmanship—objects that tell stories of identity, place, and connection. At PERN BAAN, design is more than form; it’s a bridge between cultures, crafted one piece at a time.
