An iconic masterpiece of Italian modern design, the Pipistrello Table Lamp was originally created in 1965 by renowned Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti for Martinelli Luce. Widely recognized as a museum-worthy design object, the lamp has become one of the most celebrated lighting designs of the Mid-Century Modern and Space Age eras.

The name “Pipistrello,” meaning “bat” in Italian, was inspired by the lamp’s distinctive diffuser shape resembling the wings of a bat in motion. Combining futuristic aesthetics with elegant organic curves, the design perfectly captures the experimental spirit of 1960s Italian design.

One of the lamp’s most distinctive features is its adjustable telescopic stainless steel stem, allowing the height to be extended from 70 cm to 86 cm. This versatile functionality enables it to serve beautifully as both a table lamp and a floor lamp.
