About

Meditation Seat ที่นั่งสมาธิ - Sora Lite

This meditation seat was imagined as more than furniture—it was conceived as a bridge between the functional and the poetic, much like a Japanese tea bowl that holds both daily use and ceremonial meaning. Its design was honored in Asahikawa, Japan, a city revered for its woodcraft and the quiet dialogue it fosters among artisans from around the world. The award was not only a recognition of form, but of intention: to craft an object that supports the body so the mind may rest.

Unlike the familiar cross-legged posture of Thai tradition, this seat invites kneeling. Its gently contoured form supports the spine in natural alignment, easing the knees and preventing the weight of the body from collapsing inward. With strain lifted away, silence deepens. The body sits with ease; the breath begins to steady. This is not a seat of novelty, but of presence. It allows meditation to be less about endurance and more about listening—to the rhythm of breath, the quiet of the heart, and the space within that is always waiting to be found.

Naphakard

Naphakard is a Chiang Mai–based studio where art, craft, and design converge in poetic form. Guided by a philosophy of intention and integrity, its sculptural works—such as meditation stools, ceramic vessels, and aluminium vases—merge utility with quiet contemplation.
Founded by Ratthee Phaisanchotsiri, whose background in photography informs a refined sensitivity to light and texture, the studio creates objects that are both functional and profound. Each piece embodies stillness and story, inviting collectors to encounter design as meditation.
