A richly decorated porcelain ewer with a domed lid, paired with eight matching stemmed cups. Each piece is hand-painted in the famille rose palette, a technique developed in the Qing dynasty that uses opaque white enamel to soften and brighten colours, allowing for delicate shading in pinks, greens, yellows, and blues. The surfaces are alive with peonies, chrysanthemums, and scrolling foliage, bordered with classic key-fret designs.
