About

Barket, Big Black Basket

A captivating study of organic rhythm rendered in rigid metal. Striking a delicate balance between natural abstraction and structural utility, the basket features an intricately perforated pattern inspired by the rough, textured bark of the trees surrounding the designers' Tuscan home. Its gently flared, circular walls are sculpted from laser-cut steel, leaving behind a matrix of winding, undulating cutouts that create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Rather than acting as a solid container, this open-work framework offers glimpses of the colors and textures within, allowing everyday fruits or breads to become an active component of the piece's shifting, living aesthetic.
