Born in 1989 in Denmark, Jesper Kirketerp spent most of his life in Bangkok before moving to London in 2007 to study at Wimbledon College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London. After completing an FDA in Fine Art, he went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Technical Arts and Special Effects, graduating in 2011.

Kirketerp has long been fascinated by how things work and how they can be improved through both design and function. This curiosity developed into a strong passion for problem solving, fabrication, and visual experimentation.

His work draws inspiration from mechanics, science fiction, anatomy, nature, insects, creatures, and machines, often combining organic and industrial forms. Influences include Ralph Steadman, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and H. R. Giger, alongside sculptors such as Paul Komoda, Javier Marín, and Soheyl Bastami.
