A classic Chinese kang table, originally designed for use atop a raised heated platform (kang), reflecting the intimate scale of traditional northern Chinese interiors. Crafted from elm wood and finished in black lacquer, the surface has aged into a beautifully worn patina with layers of texture and tonal variation. The front features three drawers, each carrying traces of original finish and time-softened character, while the subtly carved apron adds refinement to its otherwise restrained form.
