A powerful pair of terracotta Shisa guardian lions, traditionally placed at entrances and rooftops in Okinawan and Japanese culture to ward off evil and invite good fortune. Modelled with expressive faces, curling manes, and strong muscular bodies, one lion displays an open mouth to repel negative forces, while the other’s closed mouth keeps good spirits within. Their earthy terracotta finish and hand-carved detailing highlight both strength and artistry, making them equally suited for traditional use as protectors or as striking decorative sculptures in contemporary interiors.
