The term ""Ziegler"" refers to a celebrated design tradition rather than a specific region or tribe. First developed in 1883 by Ziegler & Co., a German-founded company based in Manchester, England, these rugs were created through collaborations with master Persian weavers and European designers. Their vision was to reinterpret traditional Persian motifs using softer colour palettes and more spacious compositions tailored to Western interiors.

Also known as Chobi rugs, Ziegler carpets are distinguished by their refined floral patterns, muted earthy tones, and remarkable versatility. The natural vegetable dyes lend depth and character to the colours, while the hand-spun wool provides a soft yet durable finish that improves beautifully with age.
