A beautifully crafted Chinese Folding Horseshoe Chair (Jiaoyi 交椅), Huang Hua Li wood, inspired by the elegant forms of late-Ming dynasty portable seating. The continuous horseshoe-shaped crest rail curves gracefully around the body, supported by carved spandrels and a pierced back splat featuring traditional auspicious motifs. The folding mechanism, footrest, and stretcher structure evoke the original design used by scholars, court officials, and horseback travelers for its portability and prestige.

The rich warm tone of the hardwood, refined carved details, and brass fittings give this piece both sculptural presence and functional charm—making it an eye-catching accent chair for eclectic interiors, tea corners, reading nooks, or Asian-inspired design spaces.
