A rare framed paper mask depicting the face of To Ta, the eldest of the Three Pure Ones in Taoist belief. Traditionally worn on the priest’s forehead during ritual ceremonies, this piece is painted on mulberry paper and reflects the spiritual practices of the Lantien Yao minority of Southern China or Laos.
