About

Scholars Rock Inkstone Object

Cast in resin and carved to echo the rugged beauty of natural stone, this inkstone recalls the timeless aesthetic of the scholar’s studio. Its irregular, rock-like form houses a smooth oval well for grinding ink, while delicate floral motifs accent the surface with elegance. Though contemporary in material, the piece pays homage to the literati tradition, where tools of calligraphy were as much objects of contemplation as they were of function.
