A beautifully preserved Korean rice chest (ssal tuiji), traditionally used for the storage of grain, embodying the quiet strength and functionality of vernacular design. Crafted from solid pine, the chest features a warm, richly patinated surface enhanced by time and use, with visible grain patterns that lend depth and character.

The hinged top opens to reveal a spacious interior, while hand-forged iron fittings and hardware provide both structural integrity and subtle decorative contrast. Its low, grounded proportions and sturdy construction reflect its utilitarian origins, while its sculptural simplicity lends itself effortlessly to contemporary interiors.
