Barcelona® Couch, Fabric

Designed in 1930, the Barcelona Couch shares the same simple elegance as the rest of the Barcelona Collection, exhibiting Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's command of line and material in any medium, from architecture to furniture. The seat is formed from 72 individual squares of leather, expertly hand-welted and hand-tufted with buttons, with all squares cut from a single cowhide for a seamless, cohesive surface. Belting leather straps with dye-matched edges are stretched over rubber webbing for cushion support, while a matching bolster pillow completes the design. The couch rests on Knoll's signature polished chrome frame, and each piece is stamped with the Knoll logo and Mies van der Rohe's signature for lifetime authentication — a true modernist icon combining clean geometry with exceptional handcraftsmanship.
